Road Trip

My Dad does a lot of bussiness in California. McKenzie just graduated high school and I had a break before summer school started. We figured it would be fun to tag along. Us the first day. We did not wear make-up or get ready for the day. whats the point when we were going to be in the car for 8 hours?
Our hotel room in Reno,NV. We got ready to go to dinner while Dad was working.

Outside a restraunt. I don't even remember the name.
My Dad was awesome enough to drive us an extra 6 hour round trip to see my friend Kirsi.

On our way to meet Kirsi
Kirsi had to work unitl 8 so we stopped in San Luis Obispo to walk around the Farmers Market. We had a blast!

Me at Kirsi's. I am really happy!

Kirsi has been making flowers out of fabric that are amazing! She was nice enough to teach us!

The whole gang! I love them all! We had such a great time with Kirsi and her family. It was well worth the 6 extra hours in the car!

Of course we had to stop at In-and -Out burger

We stopped at Lake Tahoe. It was beautiful!

In Nevada there is an Indian Historical sight that we stopped at. There was an Indian that hated that the "white people" wasted. So he build this little villiage out of garbage. The only thing he bought was cement.

This old car is part of the fence. It is just cemented in.

We were going to stop at a wildlife museum but it was closed on Saturday.

Even though it was closed I made Kenzie pose for a picture in front of the door.

The only thing we saw from the museum.

We had such a great time on our trip. While we were waiting for Dad at one of his appointments we walked around a dollar store. McKenzie bought the "bump it" they give your hair voulume. We tried doing it in the car and it did not turn out so well. We were all laughing so hard.

I had a great time with my family. We did spend a lot of time in the car. We drove 2,200 miles, which equals 40 hours.. listened to 2 books on tape, read 2 of my own books, played Outburst for 6 hours, and slept! Thank Mom, Dad and Kenzie for the great time!

Guys Weekend

The guys in Jake's family decided that since the girls got together before Katie left on her mission that they needed a guys weekend before Zach leaves on his mission. They went down to St. George Utah for 5 days. Jake's dad got a condo down there, they went hiking, golfing, and did a session at the temple. Jake had a great weekend!Ryan, Zach, Austin, and Brett

Spring Fling

This last weekend we invited Chris, Emily, and their kids to Boise for the Spring Fling at BSU. They came up on Friday night and stayed until Saturday night. We had such a great time. We love having friends and family stay with us!

The weather was perfect all weekend. The kids loved eating out on the deck and going for walks.

Edison on the porch

We all enjoyed playing Wii Fit. The adults had fun and the kids loved it.

Gordon dodging "snowballs"

All the kids love Uncle Jake. He let them play with his "fart machine." They thought this was pretty awesome, but it started getting old after a while. We turned if off and told the kids it ran out of batteries. They were disappointed so Uncle Jake taught them how to make fart noises with their hands and armpits.Making fart noises

We had a BBQ at our place on Saturday before we headed over to BSU. We had Ryan and Teri over.( I am not sure why I don't have any picturs of them.)

They had a lot of fun family games at the Spring Fling...

I am not sure what this game is called but Jake and Emily have a bungee cord around their waiste. You run forward and then it pulls you back. So much fun!

The kids were excited about their balloon creations. Gordon and Ashylnn got a sword.

Smarty Pants?

Jake is an excellent student and has always gotten good grades. I give him a hard time because I feel like I spend 3 times longer a day studying, and he still gets better grades. This semester he has a Information Technology Management class. English is not his teacher's first language and Jake had a hard time understanding him. So he decided that he would do the work on his own and go in for the tests. He did excellent on the first exam. The teacher gives them 3 tests but averages the best 2. After Jake took the first test he felt he could keep studying at home and show up occassionally to check in. He missed a couple weeks of class due to sickness, among other things. He told me he had a test coming up so he needed to go to class to see when it was. He was sitting in his desk when the teacher walked in with a large stack of papers. Jake nervously looked around the room and realized that it was test day!
As you can see Jake managed to get a 16% on the exam.

Park City

Last weekend Jake and I were invited by Chad and Katie to Park City. We had a great time. The girls shopped and did crafts and the guys played video games. We had a blast!

The guys were laughing and not letting me get a good picture. This is at the condo. This one is a little better but not much.
We spent Friday night at the condo and then spend Saturday shopping and doing crafts and the guys played video games. Saturday night we stayed at Chad and Katie's house. It was fun to play with our niece and nephews. They are so cute and adore Jake. I think this picture is so cute. Here are some of the crafts that we did. I did the "family" and Katie did "Welcome" I think they turned out great!

I love these stars. They have wire to hang them from a door during 4th of July.

We really enjoyed out time in Utah!

Update

I have been having a hard time keeping track of my camera. I have left it in Twin the last couple times I have been there. Each time I try to remind myself to grab it but leave without it. So here is an update with no pictures.

Jake and I have been doing a lot of traveling back and forth to Twin Falls.
-We met up with Jake's brother Chad and his family. We just hung out and had a relaxing weekend. The girls got up early on Saturday to go to some yard sales.

-We came for conference weekend. I love conference and listening to the prophet. There were some powerful messages and I can't wait to go back and read them.

-Jake's Dad opened a new store/restraunt in Twin falls. They opened it about a month ago but a couple weeks ago they did the grand opening. We helped hand out cheese and milk samples on Saturday. We go up early Sunday and drove down for our newest nieces baby blessing. It was so good to be with everyone. My sister-in-law has a beautiful house and it was fun to be there, even if it was only for a few hours.

Some other fun things ( and not so fun things) we have been up to.
-Lots of homework. Ready for the semester to end.
-Cleaning and organizing house and shed
-making cotton candy homemade ice cream
-bike rides
-Making homemade strawberry freezer jam. (38 cups of it to be exact.)
-Changing my major (again) to communications
-Learning that Jake will graduate from college this summer!!!
