I forgot...

This was how Jake celebrated  St. Patrick's Day

St. Patrick's Day

I love celebrating holidays. I think I love it more now that we have a family. They boys really like when we make fun food. Jake and I got up early and made green pancakes, green eggs, and green milk. The boys thought it was pretty great and really enjoyed it!

I have also been really into making cupcakes. I think it is more fun than making cakes. So I figured today would be a good day to make cupcakes. I made vanilla cupcakes with vanilla frosting. I think they turned out good and the boys loved them! I got the frosting recipe from our best bites.

A little of this and a little of that

Last Sunday I was feeling ambitious. I made Polynesian Pork chops, lion house rolls, and goldfish crackers.
The dough was really easy to make! I did not have a goldfish cookie cutter, so I used my small Christmas cookie cutters. They turned out really good, but were a lot of work! I think it would be easier to just buy them!

I always get excited when my rolls turn out good. It is a rare occasion.

Craft Project

I think its funny, but our boys love to do craft projects. They all write in a journal so I went out and bought composition notebook and scrapbooking paper we sat down as a family and covered our journals, even Jake! The boys loved it and I think they turned out great!

Sunday Activities

Its been so cold and we have been cooped up in the house, that we decided to take advantage of the nice weather last Sunday Afternoon. We went with our neighbors to the Jordan river. There is a beautiful walking path, we walked for about an hour, played catch, and let the boys who have fishing licences fish. We all had a blast! When we got home we decorated sugar cookies that I had made that morning.

The pond we were fishing at.

With how lovely these cookies are you would think my boys were little not teenagers :) they were just trying to get as much frosting on a cookie as possible.

Hiking

Jake and I have really tried to take advantage of our beautiful surroundings. We love to be outside, and go to the mountains. I never realized but I love hiking in the snow. So much fun!

Jazz Game

There are many generous people in the community, and our home get a lot of the benefits. We have people donating movie tickets, tickets to boondocks, etc. Our home was lucky enough to get Jazz tickets donated, but not just any tickets, court -side tickets. The downside, they only donated 4 tickets. So Jake went and took 3 of the boys. I was/am pretty jealous, but was excited when I saw them on tv a million times. They had a great time. They arrived early and had a buffet dinner. Jake said it was very fancy, and delicious. They had great seat and the whole time were treated amazing. Here are a few pictures to show how close they were.

Jim Gaffigan and Brian Regan

Jim Gaffigan and Brian Regan are 2 of our favorite comedians and it just so happened that they both came to Utah around the same time. We couldn't resist we had to get tickets to both.

 Kael and Ashley
 Jake and Me

Jim Gaffigan
We saw Jim Gaffigan  with our best friends Kael and Ashley. It was so much fun. We had dinner before, saw the show and then hung out after. It was nice to have a night out. I know the pictures aren't the best, they were taken with Jake's Phone.

Two weeks later we went and saw Brian Regan with some of Jake's family. We went with Sarah, Craig, Chad, and Katie. It was a blast. We had dinner at the Olive Garden, and then went to the show. Brian Regan is so funny, I laughed for the whole hour and a half.
This is the only picture we go the night of Brian Regan, we were laughing and were so distracted we forgot to take pictures.

5 Year Anniversary

Jake and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary in January. I can't believe how fast time time has flown by! It feels like we have done so much in the last few years. This year we decided to actually take a trip. We went to Zions National Park and went hiking for a few days. Jake's been there before and I have always wanted to go. It was nice to leave the cold and enjoy sunshine for a few days. We hiked a lot. I feel like we did all the trails but my favorite was Angels Landing. It was a fun hike and a beautiful view.  I forgot my camera so the only pictures we go were taken with Jake's phone. I love Jake so much, he is my best friend. I love spending time with him, and glad I will be with him forever!
