Rockin out!

Jake and I have an evenful weekend. We had a great time celebrating his birthday Friday night. We had lunch together and then spent the afternoon going to thrift stores. One of our favorite pass times. We didn't find any treasure, a little disappointing but we had a great time together. We came home and he was able to open his present. Which was Guitar Hero. He was pretty excited. He was wanted this game for a while. I wasn't too fond of the idea of getting it, but while the night wore on I was the one that kept wanting to play one more. (I am secretly in love with guitar hero.) We set it up so Jake sang and I played the guitar. We had so much fun.
We got a call from Jake's parents that they were going to come and spend this afternoon with us. (saturday) Before we they got here we had a BBQ with Ryan, Teri and their two cute kids. We had good food, yes Jake made the food for his party. I did help, a little. :) He made the best Honey Chipotle Chicken ever. After lunch we play guitar hero and just hung out. Jake's parents got to Boise around 3:00. We played a little frisbee outside but mostly sat around and visited. Jake's parents brought tons and tons of vegetable from their garden. I am exctied, I love fresh veggies, especially the tomatoes. We had a great afternoon and then we all went out to The Cheesecake Factory. It is Ryan's birthday in a couple weeks so we celebrated his and Jake's birthday with the family. Their mom is such a sweetheart, she made both of them a delicious better than anything cake. I don't know how we are going to finish it all! We had a great day!

Jake with his mom

Today is Jake's birthday, and man am I glad that he was born! :) He is so wonderful and wanted him to know that I love him a lot and I am so gratful for him in my life. I am also gratful that he has such wonder parents( I love them so much) that taught him the gospel and to be so respectful. I am glad he was blessed with such great siblings! I love my in-laws! They have all been great examples to Jake and I know that helped shape who he is toady. Jake is a great example to me and makes me want to live my life better each day. He is so caring, he is always here for me when I need him. But the thing that I love the most is his sense of humor! We are constantly laughing. I try and convince him that it is me that is so funny, but he doesn't think so. I love you Jake! I hope you have a great birthday!

Busy week

Jake and I have been so busy this week not to mention sick. I was so frustrated at school I was sitting next to a guy in my Econ class and he was talking on his phone with his doctor making an appointment for his sinus infection! The next morning I woke up sick with sinus pressure and I gave it to Jake. We were sick all last weekend and tried to rest a lot because this week we knew would be busy. We both had two tests and a paper. We got feeling better and our tests behind us! Thank goodness.

Oxygen in use

Jake and I recently moved into a new apartment complex. I have to walk around 2 buildings to get our mailbox. There is an apapartment that has a sign in the window that says.."No smoking Oxygen in use." I would always smile to myself and think that it was funny. I hate when I am outside and the people next to me are smoking. Well come to find out the old lady that lives there is hooked up to an oxygen tank. Lets just say I don't laugh and think the sign is so cute anymore.

On a serious note. I mentioned in one of my last posts that I was going to start volunteering at a homeless shelter. Today was my first day. It was not what I had expected. I was thinking I would go in there and change peoples lives! I ended up folding clothes, handing out bars of soap, clean underware, and towels, along with sorting mail. I feel sad for these people and it made me so grateful for everything that I have, even if it is not much. I am truly blessed. I actually can't wait to go back on Wednesday.

Some of our Favorites

Jake's Brother and his family moved to the Boise area this summer, and we have loved every minute of it. We spend a lot of time together, I sure they are tired of us. :) We love to play games together. Our favorites are Killer Bunnie and Bang. They are so much fun. and we are glad we have someone to play them with!

LIttle bit of an accident

The other night Jake and I were on campus and we were going to a BSU football game. We had been at school all day but did not have time to go home for dinner or leave to go out. So we bought premade sandwiches that are wrapped in plastic. Jake has his sandwich in one hand and trying to open the mayo packets with his other hand and teeth. Well I look over because he starts laughing really hard. He successfully opened the packet but it had shot straight up his nose. Not just a little but it filled his whole nostril with Mayo. It was the funniest thing ever. I am just sad I was not carrying my camera to document the whole thing!

His side of the Story

I thought it would be super cute to hae Jake write his side of how we met. So I asked him if he would do it. He looked and me and told me nicely that our story was the same, and there was no need repeating it twice, plus everyone has heard it a million times and are ready for something new :) So I have decided it is time for me to move on.

Well I had a Lexie moment last night. I am constantly loosing things, well misplacing them, does that sound better? Anyway, I had a busy day I am doing a service learning project for my social work class, at a day shelter. I went there and then had to go to class from 6-9pm. I stopped at Winco to get some "dinner" poptarts, and a cheesestick. I went to class and it was great. Came home and cleaned house, packed lunches for the next day. Just my regular routine. As I was going to bed I could not find my cell phone anywhere. I asked Jake to call it. He did. We could hear it vibrating, but still could not find it. Jake thought it was coming from the couch so he took the cushions off and looking under the couch. But I kept saying I think it is coming from the kitchen. To make this really long story somewhat short, we found my phone. It was in the poptart box that I had put away in the cupboard.

Her Side of the Story...

This is me and Jacob while dating and our wedding. This is my side of our story. We went to the same High School, but we were never friends, even thought I wished we were. Whenever I would pass Jake in the hall at school, I would always say in my head. "I am going to marry that kid someday. " Jake would ignore me or so I thought. I just thought Jake was stuck up and thought he was too cool to be my friend:) I later learned that Jake is just the opposite. He is not stuck up in the least. He is the sweetest down to earth caring man I have ever known. After High school Jake Went on a mission to Phoenix, Arizona. During that time I went to school at College of Southern Idaho and also did a BYU semester in Nauvoo. I had a wonderful semester and grew so much. I came back in April of 2006, and was only going to be in Twin Falls for a month until I moved to California. I met Jacob at an Institute dance, (its a little embarassing, but can't leave it out.) Neither of us were planning on going to the dance but somehow we ended up there.
It was love at first sight for me. I made my way over to him and introduced myself. We started talking and laughing and having the best time. At the end of the night he didn't ask for my number I was bumbed out but I knew that I had to see him again. I decided I would have a group party the next night and hoped that he would He was and we had a great time again. That was June 23, 2006 and have been together ever since. Idid not take us long to start dating or to get married. We got engaged October 2006 and married in the Logan Temple January 9, 2007. I was the most special day that I will never forget. (On a side note )I woke up sick. I was pucking and my mom was freaking out thinking that we were going to have to cancel the wedding. :) But things worked out, and I made it to the temple. Just a little bit late.

The day I married Jacob Thomas was the best decision that I have ever made. Jake has made my life complete. I cannot imagine my life being any different. Jake treats me with so much respect and love. Jake makes me feel so good about myself. He is a great example to me and makes me want to be a better person. I love you Jacob!

New at blogging

Well this is my fist post on my own blog. My sister-in-law created a family blog and it seemed like I was getting on all the time and blogging, pretty much hogging the blog.. I decided it was time to start my own blog.
I am still not exactly sure how to add pictures so those will have to come later.
My husband and I have been married almost 3 years. We are in school and having a blast. We love living in Boise.
